Mena Alexandra Suvari, born on 13 February 1979, in America is an actress as well as a fashion designer and model. After a brief period as a model for fashion and then a transition to acting when she appeared as guest actors on television shows such as Boy Meets World in the 1990s and High Incident. In 1997 she made her acting debut as an actor in the film Nowhere. Following her appearance in American Beauty (for which she received the BAFTA Award) and American Pie that attracted greater attention, she began the transition to major parts. The actress has appeared in the co-star of American Pie Jason Biggs in Loser (2000) and then played the role of lead in Sugar & Spice (2001). Spun the independent drama from 2002 and the thriller movie Trauma (2004) was her two most recent appearances. In 2004, she starred in the HBO drama Six Feet Under. She was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award in for 2005 in the category of Outstanding Ensemble. In 2008, Suvari appeared in various films such as Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh as well as in the adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari has been featured in fashion-related blogs and in various magazines such as Vogue and Lancome Paris Adaptive print ads. Suvari is a strong supporter and advocate for the African Medical and Research Foundation an eminent charity that offers relief to Africa.
