Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American performer and dancer. Her early Broadway roles are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. It was also the time that a Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with directors and actors on stage and screen for the entirety of her professional career. Ashford is set to next be starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani in Hulu special production Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford's latest film will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will stream through Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The group behind Hamilton director Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the helm of the production. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the incident during which Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp was the lead character of the first ever impeachment proceeding in America. Ashford played for two seasons on the CBS hit comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the successful series that was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with iconic actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. She is no stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her portrayal of Essie. Her additional Broadway credits comprise Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for that she won a Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
